Penrite Oil HERITAGE LTM SAE 30 (Mineral)
Heritage LTM SAE 30 is a high-quality mineral monograde engine oil without detergents (Non-Detergent), specially developed for vehicles built before 1920. This oil is formulated from high-quality mineral base oils and contains anti-wear, anti-rust, and 'tacky' additives, which provide protection for very early engine designs and simple lubrication systems.
Heritage LTM is designed for engines with primitive lubrication systems such as drip lubrication, wick feed, hand pumps, and simple circulation systems, where modern oils are absolutely unsuitable. The oil flows easily during a cold start but maintains a sufficient lubricating film at operating temperature to protect essential components.
Thanks to the tacky additive, the oil adheres to metal surfaces during standstill, providing extra protection against corrosion and wear during storage. The formulation is also more resistant to water contamination, a common problem with early engines with simple or leaking water pumps.
Application
Heritage LTM SAE 30 has been specially developed for vehicles built before 1920 and is ideal for Veteran and Edwardian cars with 1-, 2-, or 4-cylinder engines. The oil is suitable for small engines up to approximately 500 cc, including motorcycles from before 1920, and for engines with primitive lubrication systems such as drip lubrication, wick feed, or hand-operated oil pumps. Additionally, Heritage LTM SAE 30 can be used in small stationary engines (< 6 hp) and in early agricultural and industrial machinery, both with petrol, kerosene (paraffin), and diesel engines.
Not suitable for engines with modern oil filters or pressure lubrication systems.
Recommended change interval
Maximum 500 miles / 800 km or once a year, whichever comes first.
Advantages
Heritage LTM SAE 30 has a Non-Detergent formulation, making it completely safe for very early engines and ensuring it does not loosen deposits in systems without filtering. The oil is extremely suitable for primitive lubrication systems and combines good cold flow properties with a stable lubricating film at operating temperature. Thanks to special additives, it offers protection against rust and corrosion during downtime, while a tacky additive provides extra protection during long-term storage. Furthermore, the oil has improved water resistance, which is important for potential water contamination in the crankcase of early engine designs.
