Penrite Oil CLASSIC LIGHT 20W-60 (Mineral)
CLASSIC LIGHT 20W-60 is a high-quality mineral multigrade engine oil with SAE 20W-60 viscosity, specially developed for classic petrol and diesel engines built between 1950 and 1989. This oil combines a high zinc content (ZDDP) with low detergent action, offering optimal protection for older engine designs without the risk of dislodging deposits.
Thanks to its higher viscosity at operating temperature, CLASSIC LIGHT provides extra oil pressure and protection in engines with larger tolerances, while its multigrade properties ensure better cold start protection than traditional monograde SAE 30 oils. This results in less wear, controlled oil consumption, and stable performance under higher loads and temperatures.
A special 'tacky additive' ensures that the oil adheres to internal engine parts during downtime, which, combined with additional rust inhibitors, offers excellent protection during winter storage or prolonged storage.
Application
CLASSIC LIGHT 20W-60 is suitable for classic vehicles built between 1950 and 1989 and can be used in petrol and diesel engines with oil filters. This oil was developed for engines that originally prescribed SAE 30, 20W-40 or 20W-50, and can be used in passenger cars, motorcycles, 4x4s, light and heavy commercial vehicles, as well as tractors and industrial machinery from the same period. Additionally, CLASSIC LIGHT 20W-60 is particularly suitable for Austin, Morris, BMC and Leyland vehicles, and can be safely used in motorcycles with a wet clutch.
Not intended for modern engines with DPF, catalytic converters or low-SAPS requirements.
Advantages
CLASSIC LIGHT 20W-60 contains a high zinc content (ZDDP) for optimal protection of camshafts and tappets, and has a low detergent action, making it safe for older engines. The higher viscosity at operating temperature offers extra protection under load, while the better cold start protection compared to monograde oils reduces wear during starting. The oil helps maintain stable oil pressure and reduces oil consumption, while preventing sludge, corrosion, and stuck piston rings. Thanks to special additives, engines are also protected during standstill and storage, and the formulation is suitable for wet clutches.
