Penrite Oil SHELSLEY LIGHT 20W-60 (Mineral)
SHELSLEY LIGHT 20W-60 is a high-performance mineral multigrade engine oil with SAE 20W-60 viscosity, specially developed for vintage, pre-war, and early post-war vehicles up to the year 1950. This oil combines a very low detergent content with high zinc (ZDDP) and a higher operating temperature viscosity than traditional monograde oils.
The formulation is ideal for older engine designs with splash lubrication, total loss lubrication systems, or engines with limited or no oil filtration. Thanks to its multigrade properties, SHELSLEY LIGHT offers better cold start protection than SAE 30 monograde oil, while the higher hot viscosity provides extra protection under load and temperature.
A special "tacky additive" ensures that the oil adheres to internal engine parts during downtime. In combination with additional rust inhibitors, this provides excellent protection against corrosion and wear during storage.
Application
SHELSLEY LIGHT 20W-60 is developed for vintage, pre-war and early post-war vehicles up to approximately 1950 and is suitable for petrol, kerosene and diesel engines. The oil is intended for engines that originally prescribed an SAE 30 monograde and can be used in engines with or without an oil filter. Thanks to its formulation, it is ideal for small displacement engines with splash lubrication and for sleeve-valve engines as used in Minerva, Mors, Knight and Daimler, among others. SHELSLEY LIGHT 20W-60 is particularly suitable for use in cooler climatic conditions.
Motorcycles
The oil is excellently applicable in early pre-1950 motorcycles, including systems with sight glasses, pilgrim oil pumps or total-loss lubrication, and is suitable for wet clutches.
For vehicles requiring a higher detergent action, Penrite Classic Light is recommended.
